Rarity Scale – Very Rare
“McCough & McGear” is a true UK pop/psych classic released on the legendary “EMI Parlophone” label. This is a super clean stereo copy with the earliest 1G/1G stampers!
The disc of this album is superb. It looks super clean like it was bought yesterday. The music on the album is loud and clear with only the slightest of crackle at the very beginning and run-out of both sides and between tracks. Amazing for a record of nearly 53 years old! The labels are also near perfect with only 1 spindle trace at each side. Simply amazing! Overall we grade the disc NM.
The sleeve of this copy is in EX to EX+ condition. The front laminated flipback sleeve is very fragile. Especially because of the used colours on the back.
The front of the cover lovely. The laminate is intact. On the top right corner there is a minor crease. The bottom left corner has a small bumb. The spine is perfect and fully readable. The opening is nice and sharp.
The back of the cover has no ring wear. There is also no writing, major creases and stains. All the flips are intact. The bottom edge of the sleeve has a very tiny defect.
Please take a very good look at the photos to get a good impression!

The McGough & McGear abum was released in 1968 and was a side-project from “The Scaffold”. This was a comedy, poetry and music trio from Liverpool (UK). They released a couple of albums with “The Scaffold” which were a combination of music and spoken word. The album here up for sale was created by two of the three members Mike McGear and Roger McGough.
The real name of Mike McGear is off course Peter Michael McCartney, the brother of the one and only Paul McCartney.
The music on the album is classic UK pop/psych. Well crafted songs. Good vocals and good musicianship.
If you are a fan of UK pop/psych, this is something for you.
