Here we have a lovely 1st mono pressing of the very first album released by the Yardbirds with a very young Eric Clapton!
The disc looks at least VG+ but it plays EX with only some light background/crackles during the start and run-out of both sides and during more quiet parts. Columbia pressing are really great. You hear the quality of the pressing in the music. The disc plays without major issues like pops and tics. Overall a great pleasure to listen.
The labels are OK, They have some aging spots and a couple of spindle traces near the hole.
The fragile flipback single cover is in EX condition. It’s not perfect but much better compared to other copies. The front of the sleeve is nice with only some minor creases near the edges and corners and two very small damages near the bottom edge. The spine is fully intact and readable. The opening is a tiny bit rough. The flips are super nice and are just a bit dirty. The unlaminated back of the cover suffers a bit of browning due to aging. There is a minor crease near the top right corner. There is no writing and there are no major creases and stains.

The Yardbirds became legendary as a amazing live band during the 60’s. The band was formed in 1963 in London and consisted some very famous musicians during the years like Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck. The band released many albums, live albums and compilation during the 60’s, 70’s and 80’’s. With “Five Live Yardbirds” it all started for the Yardbirds. The album was released in 1964.
The music on this album is very bluesy. It fits perfectly in the period it was released. True no nonsense UK blues!! Great musicianship and well arranged songs.
With this album you insure yourself with a true UK Blues classic, which must be in every serious record collection.
