Rarity Scale – Very Rare

Here we have a lovely copy of the very rare one album band “The Atlantic Ocean” called “Tranquillity Bay”. This very copy comes with the mega rare original booklet in perfect condition!
The disc of this album is in lovely condition. The vinyl is super shiny without major scratches, hairlines and other nasty defects. It is a thick quality pressing! The playback of the album is immaculate with only some light crackle at the very beginning and run-out of both sides (pressing). The music plays load and clear with only some minimal crackle here and there. There are no major pops, ticks and skips. The labels are like new. No spindle traces can be detected. There is no writing on the labels. Overall we grade the disc M-!
The sleeve is in EX- condition. The sleeve of this album is always the problem. It is extremely hard to find a M- sleeve. But we must say, the sleeve of this copy is much better compared to other examples we have seen so far. It is fully intact. There is no writing. There are no tears, major creases and stains. The unlaminated die-cut paper thin sleeve with a lot of black and white is almost impossible to find in much better condition compared to this one.
The corners are OK. The top right corner has a small bumb. The back of the cover has a bit of ringwear. The spines on both sides have slight age wear. The inside of the cover is really nice with only some ringwear in the middle part of the sleeve. The opening of the sleeve where the record is housed is really sharp!

This copy comes with the mega rare original booklet with the slight textured paper. The booklet is in M- condition.
Because of the fact this album is complete, this example could be a lovely addition to your Northern European prog collection!

About this record.

We at RareProgPsych have managed to find a couple of very rare original copies of Swedish and Finnish progressive rock albums. Tranquillity Bay is one of those copies.
This album is a very tastefull album and will please many lovers of Northern European prog.
“The Atlantic Ocean” was a Swedish progressive rock band. Originally the band carries the name “The Quints”. In 1968 they changed the name to “The Atlantic Ocean”. We are not exactly sure why. The bands had 6 members.
Originally their first album was ment to release on CBS, but the music was too experimental for this label. Therefore the music had to be released by another label. In the end, the newly formed partnership between “Love Records” and “Swedish Collective” decided to release the album. It was the first release of this partnership. The album was released in 1970.

The music on this album is mixture of progressive rock, psych and blues. It is very nice but no easy listening. Take your time, grab a beer, and sit down on your lounge chair to enjoy this obscure prog rarity from Sweden!

I want more information about this record.
