Rarity Scale – Mega Rare
What we have here is a mega rare UK psychedelic album from the group “Pussy” called “Pussy Plays”.
The disc is in EX- condition. Most of the music plays without any issues simply around the EX+ to NM grading but there is some background crackle here and there which have the effect on its final grade. In our opinion this is not the best quality pressing ever made. The labels are clean with only some minor spindle traces. The vinyl still shows its lovely sheen but has a few hairlines here and there. The lines have no negative impact on the playback but as said, due to the quality of this pressing, background can be heared here and there.
The sleeve is in VG+ condition. It is fully intact but has some storage wear here and there. We want to do a conservative grading on this one to be sure.
This sleeve can easily put in the line of super fragile sleeves. The thin quality textured unlaminated single flipback sleeve was never constructed for a long lasting life in like new condition.
The front of the sleeve looks nice with only some minor storage wear. The edges and corners have some storage wear. The spine is intact and looks great. The opening is a tiny bit rough but there no tears or creases.
The sleeve have no major crases, stains and tears. Overall due to some storage wear we grade this super fragile sleeve VG+.
This copy comes with the correct original inner sleeve.

“Pussy” is a UK outfit from Hertfordshire (UK) which released one psychedelic classic and a couple of highly sought after singles. Also the album, up for sale here, became a true collectors piece for lovers of UK pop/psych music.
The band was formed in the mid sixties by singer Dek Boyce, drummer Steve Townsend and bassist Jez Turner. The band was first named “The Creepers” but during the rise of psychedelic music in the late sixties renamed into “We Shake Milk”.
Later, guitarist Barry Clark and keyboard player Peter Whiteman joined the band. Also Danny Beckerman joined the group as songwriter, arranger and producer. In this formation “Pussy Plays” was made and released in 1969 on the legendary but super small label “Morgan Blue Town”.
The album was sold very poorly after its release in 1969 and almost immediately disappeared into obscurity.
Nowadays this album is much wanted by rare record collectors with a focus on UK pop/psych albums and due to its rarity became very valuable. Copies of this album getting harder to find very day!
The music on this album is classic UK pop/psych. With well arranged tracks this album is a beautiful time piece from The Golden Era!
